We believe successful stewardship of the land through environmentally responsible farming practices is critical to our animals, to our customers, and to ourselves.

The farm's previous owners worked with the NYC Watershed Agricultural Council to protect the upland streams in the city's watershed from contamination by their livestock. This is vital work. We agreed to take on the contract and have since placed the land under conservation easement so it can never be developed. It will always remain farmland.

All our animals are treated humanely throughout their lives. They are slaughtered and processed at USDA inspected facilities.

We use highly trained Border Collies to move our sheep with minimal stress.
